It can be scary and intimidating to go through IVF treatments. I know it because I am starting the process for a second time. I have a better idea what to expect and thought I would share my experience. SO come along on the journey as we go through this again.
The first time I went through it was around 4 years ago. My husband and I tried for about a year to have a child with no luck. We decided that we would just get tested to see if there was something wrong. Found out there was something wrong with my husband and the only way to have children would be through IVF. Long story short we went through the process and got pregnant on the first try. God blessed us with a little boy who is the joy of our lives.
Now here we go again.
For those unfamiliar with the process the first thing the DR’s will do is take a blood test for infectious diseases on both of you and then the woman has a “wonderful” ultrasound. They are SO pleasant (yeah right). Then after all comes back good you you have to take BCP (birth control pills) yup that’s right. After a month of that comes this HUGE box of meds you have to take. Most are shots that go in the butt (WOOHOOO, oh joy). At the end of this whole process they implant the fertilized egg and VOLA. HA if only it was THAT easy. That is in a VERY neat and tidy nut shell!
Where I am in the process:
Blood work: Done
BCP: A week and a few days left
Next on the list:
HUGE box of meds with shots to be taken daily
Exam from DR’s (lots of these)
blood work (everytime you see the DR)
Then implantation date.
Now I have eggs frozen so I don’t have to harvest eggs this time so it is a little cheaper. Those that have to harvest eggs there is more to the process! I don’t remember it all but if someone has questions I will do my best to answer them!

This is a journey I remember well so sending you much baby dust!
