Chimpanzee Movie Review

Let me introduce you to Oscar.  Doesn’t he has a sweet little face?  Looking at Oscar you would not know he had a rough start to life. I got to preview this movie for Disney and really feel in love with little Oscar.  This story is about Oscar’s life. There is a lot of light hearted moments in this movie which was narrated by Tim Allen. Check out this scene! It reminds me of stuff I have said before to my son:

Tim Allen does a really good job of capturing the moments in words, even the not so light hearted moments.
In this movie Oscar’s mom is killed and Oscar has to learn how to do stuff without his mama to help him.
With trial and error he does learn how to do certain things on his own but still needs help from those around him. He needs to find a chimp that is willing to take him in and help him learn the ropes which is not easy to do.

Let me introduce you to Freddy:

He is the one in charge! He is not tolerant of much from other chimps and always keeps and eye on those who might challenge him. One thing he does always make sure of is teaching his group of team-work and teaching each other to work together.

Freddy becomes vital to Oscar’s survival which is totally unheard of!

I learned a lot from this movie about Chimps that I never knew! Did you know they not only eat veggies and nuts but eat meat? I never knew that.  They are good planners and able to execute it without flaw!

When I went into this movie I was a little scared about it. Not that the movie was going to scary or something but I have a hard time with animal movies in general. Even though I know that is nature to kill other animals I have always been sensitive to this. I just can’t watch it.

Disney must have realized how this could effect me…er children, and they edit any rough scene so that you see nothing “bad” or that should give a child any nightmares.

I highly recommend this movie for the whole family. It is a sweet movie and you too will fall in love with Oscar I am sure of it!
