I was excited when I got the Hoover Max extract 60 (yeah I know I need to get a life! ;) ). We rent and have a child and a dog. I also watched a little girl so as you can imagine our carpets could really use a good clean.

Right out of the box it was very easy to assemble. It took less than 5 minutes to get it up and running. Putting in the cleaner and the water was also easy and well marked where each goes.

I thought it was a little bit big and bulky, but lets face it to get a good clean you need a big container to avoid filling it up every 5 minutes. I will say it does seem to go through water somewhat fast, but livable. Spin brushes worked wonderful and got rid of a ton of stains.

Where I had problems was sucking the water back up out of the carpet. I hardly got any suction at all. The carpets were soaking wet.

The only way I could get any water out of the carpet was using the attachment (which works wonderfully!!)

Even with the attachment I got only about 4 tablespoons of dirty water out. So instead of getting all that dirty water sucked back up into the machine it is still in my carpet.

Overall cleans carpet great and if you use just the attachment from the machine you will get carpets to damp stage instead of soaking wet. . Maybe we just got a bad one I am not sure but because of the little to no suction I can’t recommend it. It will take days to dry and all that dirty water is still in your carpet. I have heard others say they LOVE it so it easily could just be the one we got!

I received a sample of this product to facilitate my review, but my opinions are entirely my own

  1. I ended up taking out all of my carpeting, so a carpet cleaner wouldn’t do me much good; but I do LOVE Hoover products. They are my first choice for vacuums.

  6. What little water it did pull out certainly had dirt in it. My grandma was talking about needing a wetvac a few weeks ago. I’ll point her here and let her decide what she thinks. Thanks!

  7. I purchased the Hoover Max Extract 60 less than two years ago. I’m now taking my 2nd one back to service center. Neither one would suck up the water. I’m very disappointed. I didn’t even get to use it but once and it cost $230.00. The first service center told me that they had a big number of this model brought in and they had to trash them. They said the design is bad. I think I wasted my money unless they redesign it . Not happy about this
