My job as a blogger is such a glamorous job. I look like this all the time:

and my house is the most spotless house on the block!

OK OK not really (SHOCKER I am sure!), usually I sit in PJ’s most of the day, eating something trying to figure out what my next post will be about.

The real me!

Me real house on a good day!

A good blog means you are on the computer a lot. It is a 40 hour a week job! Ignoring everything else including housework.

Well yesterday I had this great motivation… decided to be that great housewife I am sure my hubby would like me to be and actually clean the house. I had to figure out where to start. I mean the dishes in the sink are falling over they are so high and the closest looks like it threw up.  Our golden retriever has been over generous with all his fur and dust on the desk is begging to be dusted.

So I get out the vacuum get the floors done, folded laundry and then did dishes. All of a sudden I feel a pain in my back… I pulled a muscle and could hardly move. My husband just laughs and shakes his head at me and tells me I am getting old! ;)

I actually could go on for a while on how many times I hurt myself when I clean. When I was younger in one afternoon I ran my thumb over with the vacuum, slam my head on a door (I almost knocked myself out), sprayed CLR in the cut on my thumb from the vacuum incident and twisted my ankle and fell down the stairs

*Sigh*

So I think I am now going to stick with blogging, anything else is detrimental to my health. (I am NOT old, I am NOT old, I am  NOT old).

What is something that you did that makes people laugh?  I am not by myself here right? RIGHT!!!!

  2. Hahaha I love this! I have injured myself while cleaning too. I was knocking down cobwebs on the porch with a broom once and hit myself in the thigh with the handle. It left a big bruise on my thigh, which wasn’t great timing, since Halloween was the next day and my costume was Wonder Woman. But hey, I guess it added realism to the costume because I could just tell people I was bruised from fighting bad guys! ;)

    • LOL! yeah I think I will! We don’t have any wedding pictures printed (well very few) because the photographer that took our pictures took our money and ran. So we have them only on a disk with no copyright to print them.

  4. Good idea to stop the cleaning. Too risky. I can’t remember a cleaning-related injury, but yesterday I was totally clumsy in the cafeteria at work. I dropped my plate (it was empty). Later I dropped my fork. I also got thumped by the microwave door. Maybe I wasn’t supposed to have that frozen lasagna.

    • That sounds familiar. I once dropped a bowl that broke and embeded a piece of the bowl in my foot. WHen I took it out I could not get it to stop bleeding! LOL (did I ever mention I am a bit of a klutz? LOL)

  5. Haha- for your own safety, please- no more cleaning! :)

When you say I’m not old you have to get some ruby red slippers and tap your heals together 3 times while saying it. Take down all the mirrors and it will be true! One winter I decided to go out and shovel the snow off sidewalk and driveway to surprise my husband before he got home. I grabbed my warmest hoodie, coat and snow boots headed out the door. Okay picture this: I was dressed in a shocking pink hoodie with a red coat over that and purple stretch pants…Oh don’t forget the snow boots with the faux fur top. My husband arrived home as I was finishing up. Yes he was surprised, then he surprised me… he told me he though I hired a streetwalker to do the job because of the non matching neon colors I was wearing… the best pay off was when I had to lay on the sofa the next day because muscles that forgot to stay strong hurt so bad I could not move….
Thanks for the laugh and allowing me to share my memory :)
