Apparently I have been missing out. I have never heard or tasted beef stroganoff. Seriously where in the world I have been living? WOW is it yummy!

I found a more “healthy” version on Spark people (a healthy recipes website)! SOOO worth it! YUM! If you are like me and have not tried this wonderful meal I thought I would share it with you!

Ingredients

1 lb of Top Sirloin Steak cut into small 1″ cubes (or ground beef which I actually prefer)
      1/2 C Mushrooms chopped
1 10.75 can of 98% fat free low sodium Cream of Mushroom soup
      1/2 C Nonfat Milk
      1 cup light sour cream
1/2 cup onion diced (I skipped this step since I can’t eat onions)
1 clove garlic (I used garlic powder)
      salt and pepper to taste

Directions

On med heat in a nonstick skillet season and brown meat along with onions, garlic and mushrooms. ( Can’t eat onions so I skipped the onions)

In a seperate bowl mix together soup milk and sour cream mix until smoothe.

When all the meat is brown turn heat to low and add soup mixture,

stir to combine and cook for another 10-15 min until sauce is thick and smooth. Serve over rice or noodles.

The pictures just do not do it justice! This tastes awesome! Easy, fast and good my three favorite words when it comes to cooking!

Comments

  1. That looks like a much lighter version than mine! I do like to add some smoked paprika and beef broth for a saucier version.
PS I am entering the thirty-one market thermal tote giveaway!

  2. That looks so yummy! Definitely adding those ingredients to my shopping list this week. It seems thicker (better!) than stroganoff I’ve had in the past. BTW, I’m entering your Thirty-one Market Thermal Tote giveaway. Thanks!
