Have you ever Jingit? NO? Me either. Until about a week ago that is. Jingit is one of those apps that you say “why didn’t I think of  that?!” They are a start up tech company that made an app where you earn money for yourself and also earn box tops for your child’s school. Jinget works with companies like General Mills to pay you real money for paying attention to them. (#jingit4edu).

Right now when you shop at Walmart and scan certain General Mills products you will earn double the box tops (total of 4 per box top scanned).  You can also watch videos online and earn money too.

I signed up online HERE

Sign up was quick and easy:

Just enter your information and what school and you are done!

So me being the curious one took my family to Walmart and check it out.

I am a huge price match gal and since Walmart does price match I looked to see what specials I could find before we left! Guess what there were specials for some of the general mills products Jingit is giving double points for (SCORE!!!)

When we got to Walmart my son and hubby had other ideas than just shop for groceries. Getting them corralled was like hearding a flock of mosquitos.

After a while and MANY, MANY more toys and games I finally got them out of the toy section (so much more to this story see my google + album to see what other trouble they got into).
We made looking for JINGIT products into a scavenger hunt, which they both liked. I would show my son the picture and he would go and try to find it. :

Then I got my phone out and we started scanning:

My son LOVED it and starting running all over the store to find more things to scan:

I even got into it:

We earned $6.50 just scanning all sorts of General Mills products while also earning box tops for my son’s school. Total win, win.

Also each time you are done scanning a product you answer a VERY short survey:

I know, I know the screen is cracked but hey it still works!

It is quick easy and you can move on to the next thing to scan immediately. It makes it fun for the kids because they can be more involved with shopping and so far I have not found a kid that does not like to scan something if they can.

Who wouldn’t want to start earning cash and box tops as you shop? Download the app here and get shopping! You can also follow them on Twitter and Facebook

  3. Jingit sounds interesting. I like the idea of getting my kids involved in the hunt. Better for them to be on food isles than toy isles.

I LOVE Jingit and would recommend it to everyone! If folks could click on my referral link I would be so appreciative! This poor college student would love a little extra money for the weekly shopping of Ramen noodles. Thanks in advance. :)
